World's oldest active sailing ship: ''Star of India'' is the world's oldest active sailing ship which celebrated its 150th birthday in San Diego, California November 9, 2013. According to the Maritime Museum of San Diego, the 212-foot-long vessel was built at Ramsey shipyard on the Isle of Man in Great Britain and was named the Euterpe when it was launched in 1863.




World's oldest surviving bank: The world's oldest surviving bank is Italy's Monte dei Paschi di Siena (MPS). The bank has been in business since 1472. It recently reported a second quarter loss of 179m euros (£142m), three times the loss analysts had been expecting.




World's oldest living woman: Japanese Misao Okawa is the world's oldest living woman. She celebrated her 116th birthday in March 2014.




World's oldest living man: Sakari Momoi (L), a resident of Saitama prefecture, became the became the world's oldest man at age 111 after Alexander Imich, also 111, died in New York on June 8, 2014.




World's oldest desert: Considered as World's oldest desert, The Namib is in southern Africa. According to the broadest definition, the Namib stretches for more than 2,000 kilometres (1,200 mi) along the Atlantic coasts of Angola, Namibia, and South Africa, extending southward from the Carunjamba River in Angola, through Namibia and to the Olifants River in Western Cape, South Africa. It is said the desert has endured arid or semi-arid conditions for roughly 55–80 million years.



World's oldest surviving working clock: This faceless clock at Salisbury Cathedral, Wiltshire, UK, is the world's oldest surviving working clock. It dates from 1386, or possibly earlier. The clock was restored in 1956, having struck the hours for 498 years and ticked more than 500 million times.




World's Oldest city: Jericho in palestine is believed to be the world's oldest continually-inhabited city. The archeologists unearthed the remains of 20 successive settlements in Jericho, dating back 11,000 years. The city is currently today home to more than 20,000 people.

Oldest Stock Exchange: The Stock Exchange in Amsterdam, Netherlands, is the oldest in the world. It was founded in 1602 with dealings in printed shares of the United East India Company of the Netherlands in the Oude Zijds Kapel.




World's oldest restaurant: Madrid's Sobrino de Botin' is certified as the world's oldest restaurant. Botin is a four floors restaurant, with a centuries old woodfire oven, dating back to 1725. 




World's oldest daily newspaper: Wiener Zeitung, the Austrian government's official gazette, was first published in 1703 and is considered to be the oldest surviving daily newspaper in the world.




Temples of Malta, located on the islands of Malta, in the middle of the Mediterranean sea, are considered to be the oldest man-made structures found in the world. These temples were unearthed in the year 1980 CE. They are constructed with limestone slabs and date back to around 3000 BCE. 




Oldest living veteran of World War II: Richard Overton, 107, is the oldest living veteran of World War II. He received a standing ovation after U.S. President Barack Obama paid tribute to him during a Veterans Day ceremony in Washington in 2013.

Senet is considered as one of the oldest known board games. Found in predynastic and First Dynasty burials of Egypt in 3500 BC and 3100 BC, Senet was believed to be played to decide the fate of the deceased in the afterlife.
